1874/07/00 John Mason Loomis Benefactor The Loomis Institute is chartered by five Loomis siblings as a memorial to their deceased children, hoping that "some good may come to posterity, from the harvest, poor though it be, of our lives."
1910/00/00 Mary Hunt Loomis, John Mason Loomis's wife, leaves over $ 1.1 million as an endowment to The Loomis Institute allowing the school to offer tuition-free education for the nest four decades.
1913/00/00 Murphy and Dana Architect Loomis Institute's Dining Hall, two adjacent dormitories and the Power House are completed. Excavations for the institute building unearthed remains of the Loomis family's original dugout cabin.
1914/09/00 The Loomis Institute opens to 39 boys and 13 girls.
1916/00/00 Murphy and Dana Architect Founders Hall is built to house the Loomis Institutes's entire academic program.

1970/00/00 The Loomis Institute for boys merges with The Chaffee School for girls, creating The Loomis Chaffee School and quitting the Chaffee House.
2020/00/00 The 735-member student body comprises 73 percent boarding students and 27 percent day students representing through citizenship and residency 48 countries and 32 states, 33 percent of whom receive need-based financial aid.
