Hofpoort is a 16th century gate in Utrecht, Netherlands. St Paul's Abbey (lost) was a monastery at Hohorst near Leusden that was relocated to Utrecht by Bishop Bernold. The abbey church was once part of the Kerkenkruis of Utrecht. Only architectural fragments of the religious community buildings including portions of the old ambulatory, chapter house, refectory, dormitory, library and the cellars. - AsNotedIn

1050/06/26 Bernold, Bishop of Utrecht Vocation Located south of the Dom and Oudmunster, Saint Paul's Abbey (lost) is dedicated by Bishop Bernold. The Romanesque style south wall of the transept of the church has been preserved and can be seen from the Hofpoort.
1255/00/00 Shortly after a city fire in 1253, the St Paul's Abbey is extensively rebuilt. A pointed arch preserved in the later buildings, is one of the earliest examples of Gothic style in Dutch architecture.
1575/00/00 The Hofpoort entrance gate is erected in third quarter of the 16th century. The stone gate will be altered shortly after 1617.
1593/00/00 Saint Paul's Abbey is dissolved and the buildings are confiscated by the States of Utrecht.
1595/00/00 The Court of Utrecht begin using the renovated Saint Paul's Abbey buildings. The Court of Utrecht, also known as Hof Provinciaal, is the highest judicial court in the province of Utrecht.
1707/00/00 Most of the nave of the St Paul's Abbey church is demolished.
1804/00/00 The choir of the St Paul's Abbey church is razed.
