Seneca Creek State Park's Playground

The Clopper Day-Use Area forms the northern gateway to Seneca Creek State Park, centered on 90-acre Clopper Lake and surrounded by forests, fields, and miles of trails. This part of the park offers many of its most popular amenities, including picnicking areas, boat rentals, playgrounds, historic features, and access to more thirty miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian routes. A restored nineteenth-century cabin and a self-guided interpretive trail explore the history of the former Woodlands Estate, whose landscape once shaped the lake and surrounding grounds. From the Clopper Day-Use Area, visitors can follow the Seneca Creek Greenway south toward Black Rock Mill, Schaeffer Farm, and ultimately the Potomac River and the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal.

The Clopper Day-Use Area is home to one of the Mid-Atlantic's premier disc golf courses. Spread across 32 acres, the Seneca course features 27 holes arranged as three nine-hole circuits, offering a popular pastime for families, groups, and experienced players alike. Each loop moves through a mix of forested and open terrain, providing varied play and scenic views along the northern end of Seneca Creek State Park. - AsNotedIn
